About TepinTasks
Built by Someone
Who Needed It.
Not because of a market opportunity. Not because the timing was right. Because one person had been searching for years and finally decided to build the thing that didn’t exist yet.
The Origin Story
The Yellow Notepad.
Every Single Morning.
For years, Todd started every day the same way. Yellow notepad. Pen. Everything that needed to happen written down in one place — the business things, the family things, the spiritual things, the health things. All of it competing for the same page, the same morning, the same finite amount of time.
He tried every tool he could find. Nothing fit. The apps were either too simple or too complicated. Too focused on work and blind to everything else. Too rigid to reflect how a real person actually thinks about their day — the way a goal five years out is connected to what you do at 7am on a Tuesday.
So he kept coming back to the yellow notepad. And every morning he’d ask the same question: what is the most important thing I can do today that moves everything forward?
“Nobody had built the tool that could hold all of it — the short term and the long term, the work and the life, the urgent and the important — in one place.”
TepinTasks didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a personal need that turned into an obsession that turned into a product. The question Todd kept asking — how do I align what I do every single day with where I’m actually trying to go — is the question TepinTasks was built to answer.
Not for a specific methodology. Not for a particular kind of professional. For anyone who has ever sat down with a pen and a piece of paper and tried to figure out what actually matters today.
The Problem It Solved
The Notepad.
Then This.
Every morning for years it was a yellow notepad. The business things, the family things, the spiritual things, the health things — all of it on one page, trying to figure out what mattered most that day.
My Today is the answer to that question. Everything in one place. Priorities that connect to the bigger picture. A day that’s planned with intention — not just cleared of tasks.
The notepad never went away. It just got a lot better.

What’s in a Name
The Mother of
All Peppers.
The chiltepin — or tepin — pepper is one of the oldest and most intense peppers on the planet. Small, unassuming, and absolutely ferocious. It’s the only pepper native to the United States and holds the title of the state pepper of Texas. It lands between 100,000 and 300,000 on the Scoville scale — and no two are exactly alike.
It’s known as the mother of all peppers. Everything else came from this one.
That felt right. Small but mighty. Intense by nature. And the original — built from scratch, not derived from something else. That’s the spirit we try to bring to every feature, every interaction, every product decision.
What We Believe
The Convictions Behind
Every Decision We Make.
01 Your day should reflect your life, not just your job.
The best productivity system doesn’t separate work from everything else. It holds all of it — and helps you figure out what matters most across all of it.
02 Short term and long term have to talk to each other.
What you do today should connect to where you’re going. If it doesn’t, you’re just busy. TepinTasks was built to make that connection visible and actionable every single day.
03 The right tool gets out of the way.
Complexity is the enemy of consistency. The best system is the one you actually use — and you actually use the one that’s simple enough to trust and powerful enough to matter.
04 Accountability is a feature, not a punishment.
Knowing where you stand — on your goals, your priorities, your commitments — isn’t pressure. It’s clarity. And clarity is the thing that actually moves people forward.
05 Protect your time fiercely — there’s only so much of it.
Every feature in TepinTasks exists to help you use it well, and make sure that when the day is done, it went toward something that mattered.
The Books on Our Shelf
The books didn’t inspire TepinTasks. TepinTasks came first, from that yellow notepad, from years of needing something that didn’t exist. The books came later — and when they did, they just showed up and said yes, exactly that.
Built for the Yellow
Notepad People.
If you’ve ever sat down with a pen and a piece of paper and tried to figure out what actually matters today — TepinTasks was built for you.
